The Aurora AS1023CD is a 10 sheet cross-cut shredder with a pull-out waste bin and castors for manoeuverability. It has a separate slot for strip cut shredding of CDs and can cope with credit cards, staples and small paperclips. The pull-out waste bin has a viewing window so you can see when it needs emptying. Shredding is to Security level 3 in accordance with DIN32757-1.

Tricky decision

Picking a replacement shredder on the spur of the moment when the old one packs up is a bit of a finger in the wind. This one was chosen because it seemed to be a bit more robust than our old one and could handle such things as the occasional paper clip. The slide-out bin works very well. Although the device takes no current at all when not running, the bright green led reminding you to switch off when not in use is a very sensible safety feature.
