Schneider Electric is one of the world’s leading specialists in power distribution, control and automation technology and energy management. Schneider’s sustainable, renewable solutions help industry and communities receive the power they need, at whatever level – delivering from the power station to the production line.
Founded by the Schneider brothers in France in 1836, the company became leading players in the steel and machine industry. Originally specializing in armaments, electricity gradually became the focus of the company through changing times and a series of strategic acquisitions. Schneider's brands now include Telemecanique, APC, Invensys, Clipsal, Foxboro, Lauritz Knudsen, Summit Energy, Telvent, Pelco, Triconex, TAC and Merlin Gerin.
Rapid is delighted to have become a major supplier of Schneider products. Find out more about our Schneider product range here and follow the product links to search our catalogue, download datasheets and view technical information.
Push Button Switches
Pilot lights and illuminated pushbuttons keep operators clearly informed on the status of a machine or installation. The ø22mm XB4 and ZB5 series feature high intensity "protected LED" technology, assuring high performance and environmentally friendly optimised energy consumption. Robust, ergonomic and easy to install, Rapid's range of Schneider pilot lights, pushbutton and selector switches provide reliable control solutions for your application.
Pilot lights
The Harmony XB4 series of 22mm diameter illuminated push buttons feature chromium plated metal bezel buttons and indicators. The lighting assembly includes an illuminated lens unit which protects the integrated LED, while each unit is IP65 and NEMA 4 rated for dust and damp protection. Lights are available in white, green, red, yellow and blue.
Control switches
We can offer some of Schneider’s leading control station switches for a range of functions – including emergency stop, start/stop, off/on, raise/lower and disconnect. Products from the Harmony XALK and XALD ranges provide users with efficient contact operation, accessible integration functionality and convenient actuation.
Relays
Schneider’s plug-in relays deliver highly reliable control circuit performance. With two pole, three pole, four pole and double pole double throw options, the RUM, RUZ and RXM miniature series are ideal for panel mounting in industrial machines, building machinery, HVAC, medical equipment, packaging and textile machines.
Enclosures
Enclosures provide the final piece in the panel building process. Schneider’s enclosures and thermal management systems protect and maintain the panels and circuits you have built, even in harsh, extreme temperatures, corrosive environments and outdoors. Schneider’s Thalassa range of insulated and lightweight cases, boxes and enclosures help to ensure reliable operation of your components and optimum productivity.
TeSys Control & Protection
An innovative approach to motor control has been one of the fundamental principles of Schneider from the very earliest days of the company. Schneider developed its first motor contactor in 1924 and its first motor starter enclosure in 1935. The TeSys range at Rapid includes starter controllers, contactors, thermal overload starters and relays, auxiliary contacts and screw terminals.
TeSys motor controls feature all the isolation, protection and emergency handling required to comply with international codes and standards. High contrast covers identify safety-critical devices to prevent inadvertent manual operation. Every TeSys contactor is both mechanically linked and equipped with mirror contacts for safety applications. TeSys contactors, starters and overload relays can also be integrated into TeSys 2, a flexible motor management software system for measurement, control and protection.
PLCs
The Schneider range of PLCs has grown out of Modicon’s groundbreaking products. Launched in 1968, the Modicon 084 was the world’s very first PLC. Where previously industrial processes had been controlled by hard-wired relay systems, the Modicon PLC made automation computerized and considerably more user-friendly.
Schneider’s PLCs has continued to set the standard for process control, with innovations that have included the first programmable automation controller in the 1990s and in 2003 the first PLC with web-embedded server capabilities.
Zelio Logic
The Zelio Logic range of smart relays is available from Rapid in a number of formats and packages, from compact and extendable modules to starter kits and memory modules. The units are simple to install and program using either the FBD or LADDER languages. Features such as test, simulation and monitoring modes and excellent supervisory functionality make the Zelio Logic relays suitable for tasks in small machine control systems, decentralized control systems, lighting management, access control and HVAC.
