A working model of a simple DC electric motor. It has a two-pole armature wound with enamelled copper wire and a permanent magnetic field provided by a removable bar magnet.
The motor has a disc-type commutator with phosphor-bronze brushes and operates from a 6 to 8V DC supply. Electrical connection is by means of a pair of 4mm sockets.
