The XY-plotter from Makeblock turns digital artwork into line drawings on a flat surface, maybe a drawing of your favourite superhero or the plans for your next house? It's also a great introduction to the world of digital machines as most CNC machines and 3D printers have an XY mechanism inside them. Here is your chance to build that mechanism yourself and understand the whole process from creating artwork to finished drawing.

The heart of the machine is the Me Orion, an Arduino UNO compatible controller which drives the motors to draw your masterpiece. Use the mDraw software to create your drawing or import an image and have the software convert it to line art format. Pop in your favourite colour pen and watch your drawing emerge. It's hypnotic.
