An in-circuit, high speed emulator that has been designed to support the hardware and software development for selected Microchip Flash MCUs and dsPIC DSCs. This kit forms an integral part of a microcontrol development toolsuite in a wide range of software development and hardware integration applications. The REAL ICE uses the MPLAB IDE with its powerful but easy-to-use GUI. Connection between the ICE probe and the host PC is via USB 2.0 and further connection to the target device is by either RJ-11 of LVDS interconnection (CAT5).

Q. Having read the description of the Microchip REAL ICE device, can you define the "selected devices" supported. Also is a header/connector required for each target "flash" device or are all "selected devices" connected via the RJ-11 port. Cheers Ray J Rusbridge. (1801384)
A. Hi Ray, thank you for your question. The MPLAB REAL ICE is capable of supporting most flash PIC microcontroller and dsPIC digital signal controllers all the devices can be connected using the rj11 port to the board , the data sheet lists the ranges of chips that are covered with the In circuit emulator. Please see the data sheet.
