The MPLAB ICD 2 In-Circuit Programmer is an integrated debugger and
programmer enabling embedded systems engineers, through the use of a PC's USB or
RS-232 port, to carry out system debugging and then to transfer code to
devices.
The ICD 2 uses the powerful graphical user interface of the
MPLAB Integrated Design Environment (IDE), while the ICD connector attached to
the device uses only two I/O pins shared between in-circuit debugging and
in-circuit serial programming.
