Let’s take a look across LOCTITE’s wide range of innovative products, and how you can buy them from us:

Threadlockers

Threadlockers lock and seal your threaded assemblies, protecting against vibration, corrosion, and galling. But depending on your need, you have to choose the right Threadlocker and consider strength, form, and removability. Which one will you need? LOCTITE makes your choice easy. Our threadlocker range includes the below general-purpose threadlockers:

  • LOCTITE 222: A low-strength purple threadlocker for various metals, ideal for disassembly needs
  • LOCTITE 243: A medium-strength blue threadlocker offering a versatile solution for sealing and securing assemblies
  • LOCTITE 270: A high-strength red threadlocker designed for permanent locking and sealing of threaded fasteners.

LOCTITE also offers health and safety chemical products that are formulated to reduce or eliminate hazardous substances or substances that might pose a risk to the health and safety of the users. These include:

  • LOCTITE 2400: Medium-strength threadlocker with potable water approval (WRAS)
  • LOCTITE 2700: High-strength threadlocker with enhanced safety and no hazardous substances.

Thread sealants

Leaks from pipes and fluid fittings can bring work processes to a standstill. LOCTITE thread sealants are the preferred solution for many different applications across industries to secure pipes, hydraulic systems, and other connections from fluid leaks:

  • LOCTITE 542: A pipe thread sealant for fine-threaded fittings, hydraulic and pneumatic installations
  • LOCTITE 577: A general-purpose thread sealant providing an instant seal with excellent temperature resistance
  • LOCTITE 5400: A health and safety-friendly sealant with no hazard symbols or declarable toxins.

Gasketing sealant solutions

To provide a leak-free seal over a long period of time, gaskets must fill voids and be resistant to liquids and / or gases, while withstanding the operating temperatures and pressures to which they are subjected. LOCTITE offers a range of gasketing products designed for any flange type, gap size or material:

  • LOCTITE 518: Anaerobic gasketing material for rigid metal flanges
  • LOCTITE SI 5910: Silicone-based gasket for flexible flanges with resistance to oil and joint movement
  • LOCTITE 5800: Health and safety-friendly sealant with resistance to fuel, oil, and coolants.

Retaining compounds

As a type of anaerobic adhesive, retaining compounds are essential for the precision assembly of press- and slip-fitted parts, as well as any component that is used within systems subject to high vibration in challenging environmental conditions. Capable of filling spaces between individual components, they cure to form a strong bond and allow for the transmission of high loads without the need for air. They include:

  • LOCTITE 638: High-strength adhesive for slip-fit parts with larger gaps
  • LOCTITE 660: Adhesive for repairing worn coaxial parts without remachining. Use with activator LOCTITE SF 7649
  • LOCTITE 6300: Health and safety-friendly retaining compound with no hazard symbols.

Structural adhesives

There are many types of structural adhesives currently available that fulfil a broad range of industrial and commercial design needs. Each offers distinct advantages, allowing you to tailor your choice of adhesive according to how its features meet the demands of your specific application.

LOCTITE structural adhesives are available in easy-to-use packages for hand-held, manual, and semi-automated applications, including cartridges, syringes, soft-squeeze bottles and dual cartridges for two-part formulations.

Epoxy structural adhesive

Epoxy structural adhesives are among the most versatile, bonding easily to many substrates and offering a wide range of properties that ensure excellent shear strength in permanent bonding applications. Additionally, high thermal and chemical resistance alongside minimal shrinkage and cohesive strength mean epoxy structural adhesives are used extensively for automotive, industrial, and aerospace applications. Key products include:

  • LOCTITE EA 3430: A clear, fast-setting epoxy adhesive perfect for decorative panels and glass bonding
  • LOCTITE EA 9466: A tough, chemical-resistant adhesive with high peel and shear strength
  • LOCTITE EA 9483: An ultra-clear epoxy for bonding and potting applications requiring optical clarity
  • LOCTITE EA Double Bubble: A rapid-cure epoxy for quick repairs and small component assembly.

Acrylic adhesives for structural bonding

Acrylic adhesives for structural bonding are specially designed for long-term bonding on virtually all surfaces. Henkel offers a line of acrylic adhesives suitable to multi-substrate structural bonding. These acrylic adhesives can be cured at room temperature or with heat. These adhesives generally replace the need for welding or riveting which lowers overall costs. Examples include:

Instant adhesives

LOCTITE Instant adhesives are one-part, room-temperature curing adhesives available in a wide range of viscosities. They are typically used for high-performance bonding of numerous materials in just seconds – rubber, wood, metal and even the latest generation plastics.

Fast, medium viscosity

LOCTITE 401 is designed for the assembly of difficult-to-bond materials requiring uniform stress distribution and high tensile and / or shear strength. It provides for the rapid bonding of e.g. metals, plastics and elastomers. LOCTITE 401 is also suited to bonding porous materials such as wood, paper, leather and fabric. Perfect for all quick repairs and all types of small emergency repairs.

Plastics & elastomers

LOCTITE 406 is an instant adhesive designed especially for the fast bonding of plastics and rubbers. This product offers exceptionally low viscosity. When combined with LOCTITE primers for cyanoacrylates, it can also be used on difficult-to-bond plastics.

Gel

LOCTITE 454 is designed for the assembly of difficult-to-bond materials which require uniform stress distribution and high tensile and / or shear strength. It provides for the rapid bonding of e.g. metals, plastics and elastomers. The gel consistency enables overhead and vertical application without dripping. LOCTITE 454 is also suited to bonding porous materials such as wood, paper, leather and fabric. Perfect for all quick repair jobs.

Toughened

LOCTITE 435 is a colourless, toughened, ethyl-based instant adhesive. It has a fixture time of 10 - 20 secs. It has high resistance to impact and shock loads, high peel strength and is suitable for bonding plastics, rubber, metals, porous and absorbent substrates and acidic surfaces.

LOCTITE 480 is an instant adhesive designed for the assembly of difficult-to-bond materials which require uniform stress distribution and high tensile and/or shear strength. It is a rubber-reinforced adhesive offering increased flexibility and peel strength along with enhanced shock resistance. The product provides rapid bonding for a wide range of materials, including metals, plastics and rubbers. LOCTITE 480 exhibits good resistance in humid environments.
