Two siblings, Harry (11) and Sophie Jeffery (9), bring home gold after competing in OCR (Obstacle Course Racing) on the other side of the world. OCR, which is a new sport in the UK, is hoping to make its mark as an Olympic sport within the next 6 years and set to take place in modern pentathlon in the 2028 Olympic Games.
The Jeffries flew to the Bahamas, far from their home in Colchester, to compete with kids from around the world, tackling a 5k obstacle-packed course, inevitably bringing home gold for the UK.
Speaking with their father, who has been a huge inspiration in the children's journey, he mentioned:
We live in Colchester and use the Rapid Electronics office as a waypoint in training and have done so for many years. We thought it would be nice for you to know your store has been fundamental in Harry's and Sophie's training and helped Harry and Sophie bring home a gold medal for our town and Team UK In Bahamas 2023.

2023 was a great year for Harry who’s track record excelled after 7 huge competitive races in the UK:

- Midlands Spartan Trifecta - 2nd July: Gold
- Bahamas Spartan Kids World Championship - 26th August: Gold

2024 is looking to continue Harrys impressive legacy with his invitation to attempt a Guinness World Record in March, in Milan, and his selection to represent the UK in the OCR European Championships and the World Championships in August.
We are honoured to be apart of this journey, and can’t wait to keep up with the successful journey of these two honourable children!
