The Olimex Olimexino-STM32 is an STM32F 103RBT6 based Arduino UNO compatible microcontroller board. Taking the original UNO design board as a starting point, Olimex have created an STM32 development board with a number of significant improvements. On board is a 32-bit ARM Cortex M3 processor with 128Kbytes flash, 20Kbytes SRAM, 2 x 12-bit ADCs, 16-bit PWM, 39 I/O pins, plus SPI, I2C, CAN, and RTC. Using a noise immune design prevents spurious RESETs when the board drives motors. With a separate regulator for the analog circuitry the analog to digital converters are protected from digital noise. All the regulators used are ultra low-power, drawing only a few microamps and able to accept 9 to 30V DC. This makes battery powered, hand held applications achievable. The board will automatically switch between a DC power supply and Li-Po batteries (if connected) if the external supply is removed. The batteries can be kept topped up via a built-in charger when connected to an external supply.
In order to make use of perforated boards or breadboards there are additional solder pads for all the IO signals to take header pins at 0.1in (2.54mm) pitch. The board has a CAN interface to allow for automotive applications and a microSD-card for data logging.
