Olimex PIC-USB-4550 Microchip PIC18F4550 USB Prototype Board

Unlike many Microchip products the Olimex PIC-USB-4550 can be programmed via USB due to its on-board bootloader although it does have an ICSP connector. Free firmware is provided by Microchip to make this board appear as a USB HID (human interface device) to the host computer. This can be used to make a custom mouse, joystick, CDC (communication class device), audio class device (microphone, speaker etc), mass storage device and many others.
