The HyperPixel is a high speed, high resolution 3.5in TFT display to use with your Raspberry Pi. It's the perfect way to create a compact display or monitoring unit without a host of cables getting in the way, or when a larger monitor is just not needed. You can design your own interface for controlling applications or to display your data, or even turn your Pi into a compact media centre.
The display has a high-speed DPI interface that can exchange 5x more pixel data than the standard SPI interfaces that other small displays use. In terms of performance, frame rate is 60 fps, resolution is 800 x 480 (270 pixels per inch) on a 3.5in screen that can display 18-bits of colour (262,144 colours). To top it off, the display has a capacitive touch screen that is more sensitive and responsive to touch than a resistive touch display - and it's even capable of multi-touch!
To get you up and running quickly, everything is fully assembled, with absolutely no soldering required. You can just pop the HyperPixel onto your Pi, run the installer to get everything set up, and you are good to go!
HyperPixel will work with any 40-pin version of the Raspberry Pi, including Pi Zero and Pi Zero W. An extra 40-pin header is provided should you be using the display with one of the larger Pi models, such as the B+, 2 or 3, in order to boost the display to the correct height.
We've put together a one-line-installer to configure your Pi properly for HyperPixel and to enable the touch screen on the touch version - find the GitHub repository here.
