This incremental optical rotary encoders has vertical terminals and a push-on switch. Resolution is 15 pulses per revolution and there are also 30 detents per revolution. The encoder and switch has a long operating life. Suitable for applications that require precise shaft unlimited rotation.

There is a slight difference in the angular delay between the two signals when turned clockwise compared to anti-clockwise. My first attempt at code to interpret the signals worked well one way but not so well the other. My second attempt responded more rapidly to state changes and the switch plus code works well in both directions.
