Q. Hi - will this drive a common cathode 7-seg display straight from PIC chip outputs, or does it require something in between?
A. Hi Steve, thanks for your enquiry. This is for common anode displays: see page 4 of the data sheet: https://www.rapidonline.com/pdf/83-0506.pdf. The direct drive depends on the display you are driving - some can require more current than the chip can provide. In these cases a buffer would be needed.
