The Xytronic T1976 soldering station is an economical, yet temperature controlled soldering station, offering a variable temperature suitable for a wide range of solders, sizes of joints and cable diameters. Temperature control is by means of a rotary front-panel control - simply select the required temperature and after a minute the temperature of the soldering iron tip will have stabilised and be ready for use.

Attractive soldering station that heats up quickly and performs well when desoldering large soldered joints. A good deal better than the cheap soldering irons that I have used in the past. All in all a good buy except for the length of the cord. I would have presumed these things are designed by people employed in the electronics industry, so I was a bit disappointed to find that the cable connecting the iron to the unit itself is a bit too short, and makes soldering a bit awkward sometimes. Other than this, a good quality soldering station that should serve my needs for quite a few years. Would still recommend this station.
