A mains-powered unit for the filtration and removal of soldering and other fumes from the immediate vicinity of the user.
When soldering in the workplace or classroom, it is advisable to have some kind of fume extraction or fume filtering system.
The unit removes fumes safely and efficiently by drawing the air through replaceable carbon filters. Simply place the filter close to the work area and switch it on.
Q. How often should I expect to have to change the filter?
A. Hi Ian. Thank you for your question. It can depend on how much the extractor is used but when the outer element appears to be dusty, it should be changed. Possibly every 6 month as a periodic change.
Q. What is the part number for the replacement filters?
A. Hi R Castley. Thank you for your question. The spare filter is 85-5924.

For the money you can't beat this extractor. Does what it says and does it well.
Doubles as a fan

It might not be quiet, but if it was it wouldn't be doing it's job and it clearly does it's job as you can see fumes get sucked into the filter, there's a nice gush of air coming out the back so you can use it a desk fan, too. It might also be useful just to generally clean the air out, it sucks in dust and hopefully even some toxins from other sources.

For such a bargain price this is an amazingly robust and heavy bit of kit, which sits almost silently on the table the table, taking in all the smoke and fumes from my pyrography work. It has a good length of cable too. The item was delivered very quickly, and extremely well wrapped and protected. I would totally recommend this item from Rapid electronics.
