Great wire strippers

I have many types of wire strippers but these work the best.

Excellent

This is my fourth pair of these strippers over the last 5/6 years. Some I've lost and some I've worn out! Their main advantage is that cable can arranged into enclosures or accessories, cut to length close to terminations and stripped without pulling the cable from the enclosure and having to rearrange it after stripping. They are great value for money costing far less than some strippers on the market. My only criticism is that the upper blade actually wears over many hundreds of operations forcing a replacement of an otherwise serviceable tool. A replacement spring can be bought which is puzzling because I've never broken a spring while a spare blade would have been useful. But overall an excellent and indispensable tool that I will buy again.

How did I cope before?

For the past few months I've been using a cheap pair of wire strippers that barely worked to start with and then broke after a couple of uses anyway. Every time a wire needed stripped for a project, I would have to use this ridiculous technique that was time consuming and frustrating to avoid having them just rip the wire apart or pull it out of the insulation. A friend recommended these and I don't know how I ever did without them. Any size of wire I need to use, I just stick the end in these and I have a perfectly stripped wire which, very importantly, has no damage to the core whatsoever. All my projects come together quicker and involve far less frustration after having bought these. I really can't recommend them enough! If you're getting into electronics or even if you just need to replace an old/broken set - just get these. You can thank me later.

Well worth it - excellent tool

No need to keep fiddling with adjustments when putting together control panels with assorted fine stranded and solid conductors from 0.25 to 6mm2. It copes remarkably well with the likes of 7/0.2 and 16/0.1 without cutting a single fine strand. Cleanly cuts through the insulation with no compression damage to the insulation where it is gripped. I’ve had mine for well over 18months with regular (and at times heavy use - rewiring cottages) and it is still performing most excellently.
