This digital microscope and stand is the ideal combination for digital microscopy applications in the classroom, laboratory or workshop. The 5.0MP CMOS sensor camera and up to 300x magnification enable the capturing of still images and high quality video, passing them via USB for display and processing. Object illumination is by 8x white LEDs that can be dimmed to give the best lighting for the task at hand and the stand can be adjusted up and down via coarse and fine rotary knobs, locking into place when required.

I bought this to examine PCBs and potentially be able to solder a board while using it.
On the plus side, it just works with Linux. Plug it in, run Cheese and it's fine. It definitely gives a big improvement over looking with head magnifiers
On the negative side, the stand is smaller than you'd think and the base is small. It's certainly OK for inspecting, but it's not very easy for soldering. I tend to still you use head magnifiers and then inspect with this microscope.
If I'd had a go with this first, I would probably have spent more money getting something with better magnification and with a bigger stand. However, for less than fifty quid, it does a decent enough job.
