This laser safety scanner is the smallest in its class and is designed for monitoring hazardous areas. The scanner can be used to monitor various zones within the 190° 50m measurement zone, a warning zone of between 0 and 15m and configurable detection (protected) zones that are settable between 0 and 4m.
The principle by which the sensor operates is that a pulsed laser is beamed onto a rotating mirror via reflectors and any reflections of the laser beam from the sensing object are subsequently reflected back to the sensor
and, using the time difference and angular position of the mirror the position of the sensing object is determined.
Up to eight freely switchable zone patterns can be configured and the contours of these zones can be set up to precisely to fit any desired situation. A reference boundary function memorises the position of static objects to obviate spurious detection and also monitors beam alignment. The sensor can have its detection zones configured via PC over a RS-232C/RS-422 link.
