22 February 2018 Question by: Rapid Customer | Product code: 37-0310
Q. Hi how can i work out the rpm for the axel gear? If the worm gear has 6 teeth, the main gear has 52 teeth, the gearbox ratio is 1:42 and the at 3v is has 9,700rpm? thanks
A. Hi Lily-May, thank you for your question. From the gearbox ratio of 42:01, motor speed divided by 42 should give the output rpm.

A cheap and robust motor kit. Great for DT projects for year 6 upwards. Have built dragsters and ATVs with them. A resistor is useful to slow the motor down when builting ATVs. Have produce card kits cut using laser for chassis then students can design their own bodies. This works very well for year 6 and 7, depending on ability. Contact me for more info.
