The BeagleCore BCM1 computer module puts the power and connectivity of the BeagleBone Black design in to a compact package built to industry standards, just right for your next IoT (Internet of Things) or embedded project. The board is fully Open Source under the Creative Commons Share Alike licence (CC-BY-SA 3.0) which means you are free to modify this design and use it even in a commercial product. The BeagleCore is fully compatible with the BeagleBone Black, you can transfer your prototype hardware and software from the BeagleBone to the BeagleCore and it will still work. The design philosophy for the BCM1 is to match the core functions of the BeagleBone and allow you to create your own baseboard with just the connectors you need. Maybe you don't need the HDMI socket, but you do need more USB ports, it's your call.
The hardware specification includes a Texas Instruments AM335x Cortex-A8 Sitara processor running at 1GHz, 512Mbytes of DDDR3 RAM and 4Gbytes of eMMC flash memory. Its standard ports include 1 x RGMII interface for 10/100/1000Mbit LAN, 1 x USB 2.0 host and client, 1 x SDIO (for SD memory cards), 1 x UART / 1 x JTAG (for debugging) and up to 59 x GPIO for HDMI, CAN, I2C, etc..
The software and downloads. The BeagleCore runs the same operating system (OS) software as the BeagleBone boards including Debian, Android and Ubuntu.
If you plan to use this board in a commercial product, please ensure that the licence terms match your intended use; Creative Commons (CC-BY-SA 3.0).
