This versatile power supply has been designed for use in general electronic servicing in the laboratory, workshop and classroom. All units can be used in either constant voltage with current limiting or constant current with voltage limiting modes. Features three independent outputs, two fixed voltage and one variable voltage.
One 0-30V variable output
One 5V 500mA output and one 12V 500mA output
Separate analogue voltmeter and ammeter
Current limiting LED indicator
Adjustable current control
Overload and short circuit protection
Compact and lightweight
Robust, galvanized steel case
Polycarbonate front panel
Screw on connector for variable output, snap on connectors for fixed outputs
Q. Why is there no earth terminal?
Are the outputs floating?
Can the outputs be connected in series?
Can the outputs of two psu be connected in series?
A. Hi Dave, thanks for your question. The unit does not have a separate mains earth connection, the output is designed to replicate that of a standalone battery with just positive and negative connections. Hence floating output. We hope this helps.

Robust and easy to use, pity about no fine control

I've had this for 3 years or so and used it pretty constantly during that period. All fine, but I do find the lack of fine control when adjusting both voltage and current a bit of a hindrance; once set it's fine but moving from 12v to 5v, for example, takes longer than it should as you shoot past the 5v mark and up and down for a bit. The fixed outputs are very valuable as is the current limiting (although I wish it beeped when limiting, I've been left wondering what's going on in a circuit when it's been current limited). Would I buy again? Only if fine control were introduced, but otherwise a nice, heavy duty product.
Compact PSU, ideal for crowded bench

Neat, compact PSU which I found ideal for my crowded bench. Slightly disappointed that variable-supply terminals don't have through holes for easy bare wire connections but. considering the price, that's a minor grumble. Only light use so far and has performed well.

All in all good value for money. Although the fixed 12v output failed after eight months and not much use, Raqpid replaced it without any problems or fuss.
