The team at Rapid has worked closely with schools and drone experts to put together the perfect racing drone starter package.

The package includes absolutely all the parts you need to get flying including all drone components, battery, charger and transmitter handset. Unlike with many kits on the market, we've also created clear instructions to build and set up your drone making it perfect for beginners.

The Rapid Racing Drone is based on a popular 250 size* quadcopter chassis with four powerful brushless motors and is powered by a lithium polymer battery. Rapid offer a range of spare parts to keep you flying in the event of a heavy crash.

You will need access to some tools to complete the construction. Some experience of soldering is beneficial but not essential.

Tools needed:

  • Soldering iron and solder
  • Wire cutter and wire stripper
  • Hex/Allen key set with 2mm key
  • Threadlock adhesive
  • Small piece of heatshrink tubing or PVC insulating tape

The Rapid Racing Drone is also ideal for FPV (First Person View) racing – use the FPV Camera and Transmitter Kit and FPV Goggles to upgrade to FPV.

  • Kit contents:
  • 1x 250 size* chassis
  • 1x flight controller board
  • 4x brushless motors
  • 4x ESCs (electronic speed controllers)
  • 4x DAL propellers
  • 1x lithium polymer drone battery
  • 1x velcro battery strap
  • 1x battery charger
  • 1x cable tie pack
  • 1x transmitter handset

*250mm motor to motor measured diagonally

Racing drones are not toys and student pilots must always be supervised by a responsible adult when flying.

Good Value for Money

I bought one of these as a teaching aid for GCSE Engineering and was pleasantly surprised by the components. The instructions were very sparse but a little research on YouTube soon helped - Painless360 video channel especially. I have a lot of experience with RC airplanes but little knowledge of Drones so have learnt a lot myself too. Bought along with the associated FPV camera it makes a good starting out kit if you are prepared to learn something new.
