The Tektronix AFG31021 is a high-performance arbitrary function generator (AFG) with built-in arbitrary waveform generation, real-time waveform monitoring, and the largest touchscreen on the market.

This product features basic and advanced modes making it suitable for a range of operators. In basic mode this unit can generate traditional functions and arbitary waveforms direct from the touchscreen interface. In advanced mode it is possible to sequence up to 256 waveforms and define the output sequence. Additionally advanced mode uses variable sample rate technology. Every sample in a waveform is output once and only once in each cycle, synchronised to the sample rate. Since there is no skipping or repetition, all details in the waveforms are kept. This feature is very useful for applications in which signal fidelity is extremely critical, such as IQ modulation and pulse train generation.
