A 100g reel of high grade 22swg solder wire containing 60% tin and 40% lead.
Rapid 60/40 Tin/Lead Solder Wire provides excellent solder joint reliability, superior joint strength and excellent thermal and mechanical fatigue resistance. It has a rosin-activated flux which requires little cleaning after making the solder joint. It is ideal for use in applications requiring good activation.
Melting temperature 190°C
Recommended minimum bit temperature 300°C
Rosin activated flux manufactured to JISZ3283
Please note: This product contains lead and rosin. As of 1st March 2018 the supply of solder containing lead at a concentration above the relevant limit as set out under Article 67 (by virtue of Annex XVII of the REACH regulation) is restricted to professional use only.
We recommend that schools use lead-free solder for all projects.
A. Hi Leanne, this 22swg solder is a 60/40 tin/lead alloy solder and is not of the lead free type. For lead free solder, take a look at product 85-1166, available here: https://www.rapidonline.com/Rapid-Lead-Free-Solder-22swg-100g-Reel-85-1166

Excellent lead based solder

Yes, it works, RoHS is a knee jerk reaction to a non existent problem of lead in solder. Lead free solder is next to useless. This Rapid product is an exceptional example of the product we can still buy, supplied by the best, Rapid.
Excellent Solder

This solder is excellent, it flows really well. Was a dream to use when hand soldering a very large PCB (380mm x 280mm) that was 90% surface mount components.
Will definitely be buying more!
(I should point out that I received this solder free for purpose of review)
A happy return to real solder

At one point I was convinced that I had lost the ability to solder anything.
On returning to using proper lead/tin solder I discovered that I hadn't and despite several temperature controlled soldering irons it has to be faced that leadfree solder is awful.
The lower melting point and improved flow is especially noticeable when soldering 12 AWG power leads to power distribution boards and XT60 battery connectors.
If you are a hobbyist and want to see a return to nice shiny solder on a PCB return to proper solder
High quality

Very high quality solder that flows very nicely and leaves a good shiny joint
