The APM APM-PROC-APO is a Positive LCD Process Meter that features an easy-to-read display, along with a versatile input that works with many industrial sensors. This Process Meter takes APM into a wide range of new applications. The programmable scale and custom annunciator means users can tailor the meter to display their critical parameters exactly how they want, whilst the dynamic backlighting in conjunction with setpoints mean operators are visually alerted when a parameter is out of range.
The two outputs can be used for control and integration with other systems in the process, meaning the APM Process Meter is much more than just a display.
The meter incorporates trurange technology, which means the meter is super accurate for very precise measurement and control, and nonlinear sensors such as thermocouples and pressure transducers can also be used thanks to the new software application which allows the user to configure up to 20 points in a non-linear conversion table.
CASE FILE: A company that manufactures machines for producing batteries use a heat treatment for the process. They use the ammeter to give both a visual indication to the user that the heater is On, but they also use the digital output to indicate to the control system (a PLC) that the heater is On. If the meter shows an over current (a short circuit) or an undercurrent (an open circuit) the machine can be stopped thus prevent the machine from producing scrap.
