Q. I am interested in a Flir thermal system, for use in detecting low heat sources under the earth serface, my question is how deep will it penitrate, and at what temperature, Regards,

A. Hi Bob. Thanks for your enquiry. All thermal cameras can only accurately measure a surface, only reasonably hot or cold (pipes for instance) can be detected underground albeit not accurately but give an indication of where they are located but not their temperature or depth.
