A compact but powerful, PICAXE microcontroller. Popular in education due to its low cost and small size, but also very popular in a wide range of hobbyist projects.
This chip supports up to 12 inputs/outputs with 7 analogue/touch sensor channels.
All M2 series parts support enhanced features such as configurable i/o pins, parallel tasks, ring tone music and touch sensor inputs.
Q. Is there a limit to the number of lines of code programmable onto the chip at one time?
A. Hi Jeff, thank you for your question. Yes this has a maximum of 80 lines memory.

Being a but of a tinkerer myself and enjoying electronics, this little programmable IC is fantastic. The PICAXE system allows for a simple serial download with an affordable USB or serial lead and the software is free. I am in the process of building an adjustable single/double sided UV Exposure Unit and this is ideal. With up to 12 inputs/outputs there's a whole host of problems this little micro-controller can tackle. There's ample memory, an EEPROM and the ability to use interrupts, and multitasking, not to mention the ability to program tunes for a piezo transducer! This fantastically priced IC is sure to keep you amused for hours if not days!
great ic - one of the classics to be!
