The Grove Smart Plant Care kit from Seeed Studio takes plant care to a whole new level by combining Grove modules with your Arduino or OrangePip. There's a set of sensors to monitor the plant's environment including temperature and humidity, moisture, and sunlight. Then there's a simple watering system with a water pump, a relay to control the pump, and a flow sensor. And finally there's the control system which has an OLED display, a rotary encoder,and a push button. All these components are supported by a Grove base shield which plugs into your Arduino or compatible microcontroller. As well as keeping your plant healthy, this kit offers a great opportunity to learn about sensors and control systems. Many other Grove add-on modules are available allowing you to expand the plant care system. For example, it would be very simple to add a flashing LED as an alarm if the water reservoir runs dry.
