I bought one of these cases to hold a Rubidium Frequency Reference Module FE-680A. These things kick out a bit of heat, so I needed a sturdy metal case to both withstand and conduct the heat away. This Hammonds does that! Also, I needed to mount a few sockets front and back, and the aluminium front and rear panels were easy to work with. The case opens up,with a sliding removable top panel, making access very easy.
The extruded aluminium is thick enough to allow for drilling and countersinking of small screws, so that they sit flush with the case. The end result is a very solid, professional-looking project. It feels good and purposeful in the hand.
It's not the cheapest box out these, but I couldn't have done any better for the quality. I would definitley buy again.
