Terminal Blocks
Whether you use a screw or Push-in, spring-cage, fast or bolt connection, Phoenix Contact offer every configuration of terminal block technology, which can be freely combined with each other to transmit signals, data or power for almost every application.
Innovative products such as SKEDD, TDPT and bespoke terminal blocks shows why Phoenix Contact should be a vital part of your solution.
- Maximum flexibility & reliability, thanks to versatile connection technologies
- Expert design-in support from experienced product specialists
- Customer-specific versions enable individual solutions
SKEDD - Tool-less, header-less plug-in PCB connection
SKEDD direct plug-in technology makes it possible to connect SDC 2.5 PCB connectors directly to PCBs via through-contacted bore holes. This is possible without tools or an additional header. The connectors are easily mounted on the PCB without tools and locked with the integrated body-bound rivets to form a vibration-resistant connection.
SKEDD direct connection technology allows you to reduce your material and process costs up to 30%.
The advantages include:
- Flexible positioning on the PCB
- Reduced component and process costs: simple insertion by hand and vibration-resistant connection
- Time saving push-in connection
- Intuitive use through colour coded actuation lever
Main features
- Currents: up to 12 A
- Voltages: up to 320 V (300 V UL)
- Conductor cross sections: 0.2 mm² to 2.5 mm²
- Pitch: 5.0 mm
- 1 to 16-positions
THR - Looking to reduce the steps in your PCB production?
The use of components for different soldering technologies (wave/reflow) often results in the PCB being assembled in stages. The concurrent use of SMD and THR PCB connection technology is aimed at reducing the number of production steps and manufacturing the module using just one soldering process. Adjustments to existing production equipment or to the process control system are to be avoided whenever possible.
Regardless of which assembly method is used – SMD or THR – the components must be developed for the individual process steps of SMT mounting and the respective requirements.
- Reproducible high process quality, thanks to the high degree of automation
- Through-hole technology ensures the high mechanical stability of the connection component
- High process efficiency, thanks to processing THR and SMD components using one method
TDPT - PCB terminal blocks of the same size – either screw or push-in
Phoenix Contact’s TDPT PCB terminal blocks are the solution for market-specific devices in a uniform design. Device manufacturers are free to choose either the screw or push-in spring connection, without having to adapt the PCB or device design.
Available with pitches of 5.08 mm, 6.35 mm and 10.16 mm, the TDPT range are suitable for conductor cross sections from 0.2 mm² to 16 mm². Depending on pitch and connection cross section, the PCB terminal blocks can transmit currents of up to 76 A and voltages of up to 1,000 V. All versions feature enhanced touch proofness in accordance with IEC/UL 61800-5-1.
Bespoke terminal blocks
By combining high quality PCB terminal blocks with value-added capabilities and services, Phoenix Contact is able to develop solutions that provide the following advantages:
- Decreased wiring errors
- Reduced production time
- Simplified bills of materials
- Eliminate connector mis-mating
Marking Marking for custom terminal blocks improves recognition of wiring points. This leads to decreased assembly time and fewer wiring errors. Convenient marking options include:
- Black and white pad printing
- Multi-colour pad printing
- Inkjet printing
- Custom labelling
Pre-assembly For ease of configuration, many Phoenix Contact PCB terminal blocks are modular by design. Traditionally, this calls for stocking multiple part numbers and for production teams to assemble multiple parts. Phoenix Contact’s pre-assembly services can produce your configuration under one part number, saving time and money.
Colour coding Colour coding reduces wiring errors and minimises installation times. The key advantage of this service is quickly matching a coloured wire to the appropriate connection point.
