Q. What is the reliability of these BS88 fuses?
In other words, if I have a 63A BS88 and run it continuously at the rated current of 63A, what is the MTTF (i.e. the average time before it blows)?
If the current is half of the rated current, does this extend the MTTF?
A. Hi Robert, thank you for your question. The supplier has stated: "Our BS88 fuses including the BAO63 will run at rated current continuously for an indefinite time. They are rated to carry 63A, there is no MTBF as it's a test that's not feasible to do since we would expect the MTBF to be many years".
