Q. Can this be used for melting and soldering sterling silver?
A. Thanks for your enquiry Jeanette. This should just be suitable as the maximum operating temperature of the iron is over 1000 °C and the melting point of silver is 961.78 °C.
Q. Is this push-button gas-supply-and-light, in one button press, easy with one hand? Or do you turn the gas on, and then press the button, requiring two hands for the turning of the supply?
A. Hi Andrew, thanks for your question. In principle this is do-able with one hand – but not particularly easy as the mechanism is fairly stiff – perhaps because its new.
Two hands is much easier to get it started – then it can be used in one hand easily.
