Olimex PIC-USB-STK PIC18F4550 Starter Kit Prototype Board with USB

The Olimex PIC-USB-STK is a comprehensive starter board for exploring the PIC18F4550 and its ability to interface to systems via USB. The board comes with a set of demonstration USB applications which present it to a host computer as a USB HID mouse, mass storage device using the on-board SD/MMC slot and as an RS232 to USB converter. It is pre-loaded with the Microchip USB bootloader which allows programs to be downloaded to it over the USB interface without the need for an external programmer. If required the MCU can also be programmed using the ICSP connector. The PIC18F4550 has the USB functions integrated onto the chip allowing Full Speed transfer rates. With 32KB of flash memory, 1KB dual port RAM, 1KB GP RAM and nanoWatt operation this device is ideal for embedded systems requiring sporadic communication with a host system to upload/download data or receive firmware updates.
