Q. In the datasheet for this product it states that it can directly drive an LED display, does this mean the display does not need protecting with resistors?
A. Hi J Chandler, thank you for your question. This means that the IC will supply sufficient current for driving LED displays. Resistors are still needed to limit this current for a specific displays requirements.
