<p>Lead-free solder often causes increased oxidation in the wettable area of soldering tips. These oxides must be removed regularly to keep tips in good condition. The Weller WDC dry cleaner uses a special metal wool to remove these stubborn deposits.</p>
  • Surplus solder is removed by tapping the tip on the soft edge of the collector box
  • The tip is cleaned by pushing and turning the tip in the metal wool
  • Leaves a thin layer of solder on the tip to avoid oxidation
  • The metal wool can be soaked in flux to further improve cleaning performance
  • Replacement brass wool refills are available separately
