The motor driver board is a pre-assembled circuit that includes the PICAXE-08M2 chip and L293D output driver chip. The board can be used to drive four individual On/Off outputs (e.g. buzzers), or the outputs can be used in pairs to allow forward-reverse-stop control of two motors.
Pre-assembled circuit for quick and easy robotics projects
This board is very versatile and could be used for any number of projects not only driving motors. However you need to realise that it has a picaxe chip at the heart of it which requires programming. Don't be put off though the programming lead is only £10 and the software is free. I guarantee once you have set it up you will be completely hooked on the picaxe programming.
