This Texas Instruments TLC556CN has a very low power consumption typically 2mW when VDD = 5V. It is capable of operation in astable mode. The CMOS output is capable of swinging rail to rail. It has a high output current capability, sinking 100mA and sourcing 10mA. The output is fully compatible with CMOS, TTL, and MOS. The low supply current reduces spikes during output transitions. It uses a single supply from 2VDC to 15VDC. It is pin compatible and functionally interchangeable with the NE555. Its ESD Protection exceeds 2000V per MIL-STD-883C, method 3015.2.
