European Directive 1907/2006 Registration. Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH)

Rapid Electronics Ltd is fully aware of this directive as it applies to Importers and Distributors of 1. Substances, either in their pure form or in 2. Preparations and 3. Articles in excess of 1 Tonne.

  1. Rapid Electronics Ltd does not import any substances in their pure form so are not directly affected by the Directive.
  2. Rapid Electronics does import products that are composed of substances as defined by the regulations, including some that may appear on the list of Substances of Very high Concern (SVHC). We are constantly monitoring the substances of very high concern SVHCs in our products and our customers are also encouraged to visit the following site to get the most up to date information on the current list of SVHCs: https://echa.europa.eu/candidate-list-table
  3. Where SVHCs are advised to be present, we will advise our customers by suitable method on our website and provide appropriate Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).

As part of our contract terms and conditions for all our suppliers, they are required to monitor the changes in these and other relevant regulations and advise us within 45 days of any changes in the status of the products and preparations they provide. As a result of this information it may be necessary from time to time to remove a product from sale or substitute it with a more compliant product.

We reserve the right to withdraw or substitute products as a result of regulation developments with no notice to customers. In the event that we are advised of a significant hazard to customers, we have the facility in place to contact and advise them quickly in order to recall.
