The Sauter TD 225-0.1US is a Thickness Gauge that uses Ultrasonic Waves to exactly measure the thickness of a material. The gauge has an external sensor for those hard to reach measurement points.

The TD 225 generates high accuracy results within a measurement range of 1.2 to 225mm with sound velocity of 500 to 9000m/sec. The measurements are then displayed on the clear to read LCD screen in either inches or mm.

The TD 225 has a built-in RS232 port to interface with a PC.

Q. Can this equipment be used for measuring pipework thicknesses? I work in the heating and ventilation industry and on occasions need to check the thickness of existing pipework.

Q. I need to test the efficacy of the hull plate of a steel yacht preferably whilst still afloat. How efficient will this be? The plate will have suffered some degradation either through electrolysis, natural erosion or grit blasting. It will have been painted with an epoxy coating of Jotun mastic. The areas to survey would be approximately 2/1.5m x 0.7m.
