This product detects the steady state electrostatic field generated by AC voltage via insulation without requiring contact to the bare conductor. A red glow at the tip and an acoustic signal indicates the presence of voltage. Additionally, an LED light is integrated to provide light for dark corners.

Great product for the price

Would get 5 stars but the torch is in the back, so if you are using it in a dark area the light is pointing in the wrong direction to the testing end. Much cheaper than DIY stores.
