This white 3mm LED has a 12V voltage input and an integral current limiting resistor ensuring that the LED is TTL compatible. Having an integral resistor means that component count is reduced giving space saving and reduced cost benefits making this LED ideal for use in a wide range of lighting and indicative applications.

Perfect indicator LED

Reviewed by: Daniel Coulson - Friday, May 4, 2018
I bought these LED's to replace the incandescent 'grain of wheat' bulbs behind the illuminated window switches in my car. Owing to the fact that they have their own internal resistor, they are ideal for such situations where space is significantly limited. They illuminate moderately brightly, without getting warm - meaning they will last a long time. The shine with a pure white light, which isn't as warm as incandescent, but not nastily blue or too harsh - Perhaps around 3000K. For the very low price, they are a steal. I would recommend picking up a few just to keep in your component box. For 12v automotive situations, they are perfect. They produce a standard beam angle for a 3mm LED, which is very round (Some older LED's produce a square beam in the shape of the internal die). If you needed a more diffused light, I'm sure you could sand down the end by 1/8". They're the sort of component that are hard to find, so if you do get some, but a few extra, as they may not be available in a decade or so.
